Working on his family farm in Waltham St Lawrence, Berkshire, Guy Philp uses local, sustainable wood to create highly desirable carved objects.
Guy’s work is highly respectful of the natural material, and preserves the natural shapes, forms, textures and colours of the wood in every piece of his work. His range is diverse, from radial slice pictures and natural form sculptures to more practical items such as hand carved bowls, wine racks, tapas boards and furniture.
All the wood he works with is locally sourced either from Church Farm itself, nearby woods or tree surgeons working in the local area. No tree is ever cut to provide material; Guy only uses wood that has been felled for health and safety reasons or has died naturally, thus creating beauty and life after death.
